Tax Time
Not only is it important for you to know about tax for your own purposes, but you should also know enough to be able to point other workers in the direction of further information, be careful not to provide advice, but direct them to where they can gain further information.

Depression
Not a subject many people in the contruction industry are happy to talk about, but a vital one for trainers and managers to understand fully.
Get in the know by attending courses, reading fact sheets and talking to people in the know, such as OzHelp staff.
Tips:
Watch for the signs, if one of your staff, students or colleagues:
- appears unhappy, down or miserable, or cries regularly
- complains of feeling empty, blue or sad
- has lost interest or enjoyment in things they used to
They may have depression, or heading that way.
Important Facts:
Everyone feels unhappy from time to time, but the thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical symptoms of depression generally last for more than two weeks.

Mentoring and Coaching
Are you a workplace mentor or coach, or just seen as one? Often managers and trainers are looked at as an example to follow, don’t underestimate what impact you can have.
Mentoring and coaching in the workplace can not only enhance work performance, but can reduce depression, suicide and bullying.
